Without A Powerful Message Your Marketing Won't Work
Often what went wrong is the content of their marketing itself. As a marketing consultant offering professional copywriting services, I have seen, and been able to help many companies with this problem. Instead of educating prospects to the benefits their product brings, they speak in meaningless claims, obvious platitudes and irrelevant generalities that no one believes. When your message is weak, your marketing won't work with anywhere near the effectiveness you expect.
The Random House Dictionary defines platitude as “1) A trite or banal statement, especially one expressed as if it were original or significant. 2) Lack of originality; triteness. Synonym: Cliché.

So when you’re creating your website, ads, brochures and catalogs refer to the following list of trite, non-specific and unsubstantiated platitudes, banalities, puffery and overall claptrap. Stay away from them! Instead substitute real facts, benefits and evidence. Your customers will appreciate it – and so will your sales chart.
